[ Gumusluk ]

26 km from Bodrum lie one of the oldest settlements in the region. Gumusluk was ruled by King Mausolos in the 4th century BC. where the earliest coins were minted. The remains of the old harbour are visible in the clear blue waters of this enchanting cove. The village folk still believe that there is a silver mine there which gave the village its name Gumusluk, meaning 'full of silver'. They never found the mine, but they don't complain because the small fish restaurants they run are famous and bring in the mint.
